Actor Kevin McKidd may sport a growly American accent as Dr. Owen Hunt on Grey’s Anatomy, but the Scotland-native’s true roots shine through on his upcoming album, The Speyside Sessions, a collection of traditional Scottish songs. Admittedly, he says, the album is “not the thing you’d expect,” but ultimately, it was a chance for the actor to reconnect with his roots, honor his late grandfather (who first exposed him to Scottish music), and something good for the world. Recorded two years ago with old friends during a five-day jam session in his native land, the album’s proceeds will benefit Save the Children, a charity for which McKidd is an ambassador.

With a new poster and trailer for Pixar’s upcoming 3D fantasy adventure, Brave, earlier this week, the film now has a new TV spot, which premiered at this week’s Oscar ceremony. Featuring a beautiful song by Scottish singer Julie Fowlis, named Tha Mo Ghaol Air Aird A’ Chuainv which translates from Gàidhlig as My Love is on The High Seas, the new TV spot shows a different side to the film from what we have already seen in the previous trailers and clips. Focusing even more on the film’s Scottish heritage, the new clip also highlights the film’s stunning animation with close-ups of the characters and detailed scenery.Directed by Mark Andrews and Brenda Chapma, Brave follows the epic battles of Princess Merida (voiced by Kelly Macdonald) in ancient Scotland, who is determined to make her own path in life and defies an age-old custom against her parents King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson). Granted one wish by an eccentric old Wise Woman (Julie Walters), Merida must rely on her archery skills to undo a beastly curse, forcing her to discover the meaning of true bravery. Set to be released on 22nd June, here’s the new TV spot as well as a video of Fowlis performing the featured song on BBC’s Songs of Praise.

Grey's Anatomy's executive producer Shonda Rhimes has warned that an "explosion is coming" for Cristina and Owen. Rhimes told TV Guide that there are some tough times ahead for the duo, played by Sandra Oh and Kevin McKidd. "I think it's going to affect every corner of their lives," she said. "Some of the performances that Sandra and Kevin are turning in are, like, people are crying while watching the dailies. It's unbelievably good what they're doing."
Rhimes acknowledged that fans are "dedicated" to the couple, adding: "I'm not going to say whether or not they're going to break up or not because, honestly, that's kind of not the point in this. "But I feel like they're two people who really want to be together, who are fighting to make it work. What that's going to mean is it's going to be fairly painful, even if they make it work. It's going to be a painful journey." Rhimes has previously suggested that everything "blows up to holy hell" for Cristina and Owen in upcoming episodes. [SOURCE]

MINI-UPDATE: Apologies for not updating for pretty much the whole of six months. That aside, upgraded the journal with a new look (finally) and graphics. I tried to be as "minimalist" as I could because I really couldn't think of anything elaborate to full the space up with (that wouldn't be ugly) and finding decent pictures/shoots of McKidd is still a pain in the arse. (What do you think?)

Holyshoot, is that Noel Crane? Awesomesuace!
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and etc. (whichever one you happen to celebrate).

This is from last year, but apparently AOL.com interviewed Kevin McKidd on his present career on Grey's Anatomy and inquired about how Journeyman would've ended if he show hadn't been canceled by NBC. Its' behind a cut for those who aren't interested in knowing or just don't wanna be spoiled outright:
